Meet Miss JohnsonHere is a little about me, your child's teacher, Miss Johnson. I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and am a 3rd year teacher. I am trained in ABA therapeutic techniques, which I utilize within my classroom to assist with encouragement of learning in the classroom. I proudly teach 6th grade World History for Franklin Academy of Palm Beach Gardens. Because of my training in psychology I firmly believe in teaching my students as a whole, so in my classroom you will find multi-intelligence learner based lessons, positive reinforcement, and flexible seating to encourage personal and educational growth. I am proud to say I have an administrative family that fully supports these values, and take it a step further to incorporate gender specific learning environments, which only add to the enrichment of the classroom learning experience.

Class Information
Students in the middle-level social studies program will be engaged in the geographic study of ancient world regions as they examine major civilization development. The 6th grade curriculum is designed to allow students to observe societies dissimilar to their own in such a way as to broaden their understanding of people and places in an increasingly interdependent world. Students examine areas of the world having the longest record of human habitation and the richest diversity of human experience. These are regions within, which the vast majority of the world's people live and regions that possess some of the world's most valuable resources. Students will trace the development of human society from its origin through the Ancient World studies of Early American Civilizations (Native Americans). Students will explore patterns of change in continuity by focusing on the expansion and decline of civilizations, patterns of geography, and development of political, economic, belief, and societal systems. Students will analyze and evaluate findings of how the foundations of society influence the development of our civilization today. This class will be interactive and utilize Garden's Multiple Intelligence Theory to enhance each students' personal understanding of global connections and its role in the world around them.
